In this post i will be reviewing the game based only on what i have seen and heard about it as I have never played it, i can tell you from what i have seen only makes me want to play it even more !!!!
over a month a go i was watching my Favorite Youtuber jacksepticeye who does a lot of a gaming content, vlogs, and much more amazing Creative Videos.
Sometimes just watching him with his beaming attitude in life and his wonderful personality just brightens up my day (:

I noticed down the side where the suggested videos normally are a really cool Thumbnail to a game called Thumper, I try to watch as many of his videos as i can but sometimes do miss ones, i knew the content was not within the last week as normally it says new next to it but thought it was a video he has done recently.
So i decided to click onto the video, and i was not only super over hooked onto the game just within jacks 15 minute playthrough but his commentary made the watching experience just even more special.
small write up about the game from wiki- The objective of Thumper is to guide a space beetle along a single track through a series of fantastic worlds The player must press a button to hit lit "notes" on the track in time with the background music, while also bracing against obstacles, turning against curved walls, jumping over spikes, and defeating enemies. The game is played in a third-person point of view just behind the beetle, which enhances the extremely fast scrolling speed of the level's obstacles

The game is best experienced with headphones because of the killer soundtrack and because you are triggering notes you can really feel the booms go through your body.
the game starts you off easy showing you what to do with most levels working on the basic structure of level 1-1 to 1-20 each lets say zone has around 20 levels with each zone having a small boss and a final boss.
I think what really makes the game stand out other then the genius crafted levels and visuals is the thumping out of this world soundtrack and we will dive into that a little later on (:
what i like about this game is whenever you enter a new zone for 2-3 levels it will add new things you have to do followed by 5 levels where the new thing you learn disappear a little and replaced with extended sections from the last zone and quicker actions.
The game will then bring into all together for the boss which the way the game slows down the music and makes you sit in awe looking and listening to the sounds for about 30 seconds is epic !!!
After watching jacks video of just the one zone i went on the hunt to watch more,
I put my headphones on and within one night i watched up to zone 6 and i can tell you i have never said OMG, how intense, how much faster, and never been so drawn to just watching someone play the game.
I had watched all 9 levels within 2 days, it left my heart pumping so much, that i wished the game had brought out bonus levels.
It was only when i went to share jacks video that i had noticed the video was made over a year a go, i was shocked that i had missed this epic game for so long !!!
i was also gutted that was the end of the game and that no extra content had been made over the last year.
This then in a very strange Inspired moment lead me to not only partly recreate a bit of the thumper soundtrack but also put my own spin on it.

this is the first time telling people what i use to make music, the simple answer is i dont have loads of money or the creative skills to use synths, programs like reason, ableton etc,
when i brought my new laptop nearly 2 years a go it came with a program called music maker Jam.
This software comes with a few sound packs with loops pre made ready for you to pick ones and put them into the program to start making a track.
As you can see from the picture above this is my current collection of soundpacks, some are free forever some i have paid for and the rest work on a basis of you can swap 3 sound packs every month for free for 3 new ones, so if i have made a song with a pack that i know i wont use for a long time ill swap it for something that will work with my new track.

The program can be very limited due to it being all pre recorded samples however, you can change the key of the sample, the BPM and a few other tools to create some really cool and different experiences.
Now ill explain about the thumper track, so i decided for the get go i wanted to create more soundtracks that would fit into games or movies, i downloaded movie score 3 and started picking bits that would fit together.
A minute into the song i needed to find parts that would be my breakdown i downloaded 2 more movie soundtrack, and as you can see from the picture above i came across 3 shocking samples that reminded me of Thumper.
I got really excited and decided to pursue this further, Now i will say i have no idea how the creative team who made the Thumper soundtrack did it but i am guessing a lot of hard work and i am sure that it was made with real synths etc and i only wish i was that talented to make it the proper way rather then using samples.
I tried to picture how the soundtrack went, when you started going into the boss fight those soundscapes being peaceful but dark the feeling that something was about to happen.
I only expected to create around 2 Minutes and ended up with a proper level soundtrack that almost matched the game !!!

After making the track i wanted to create a more surround experience and really bring the sounds to life like in the game, so i put the track into Premier Pro added a studio Reverb preset to the track, and export it into 5:1 and the drums sounded amazing, best experience indeed through headphones only way to enjoy the game and the music to the original game anyway (:
I still had a great buzz after making my best Piece of music ever, so i got to work on creating a even more rushed feeling of the last level in the game, i turned up the BPM from 85 to 90 and again came away with a awesome alternative to the games soundtrack.
I just am still in shock how music can work that you can be making a track, then out of nowhere you find\ create sounds that then lead into something so unexpected and thats what music is all about, exploring and having fun, my love of music has only got more creative because i get inspired by a lot of people !!!

I only wished i could play the game, I have not touched Video games in a few years as they took over my life to much, and if i ever had the money i would by a console just to play this game for the experience !!!
Thank you for reading, please check out the game and if your reading this and also love the game please tell the company to make more levels, even just watching the game, makes my day (:
