This is going to be a short blog post but one i wanted to write to hopefully let be more aware of epic bands like Under the covers Rock duo and the whole experience of seeing bands live (:

this is a small selection of who they are - Where energy & rock collide head on, get Under the Covers because a cyclone of hard pop is heading your way! Chantelle & Shane are taking no prisoners here- its a full on high energy pop rock show that assaults the senses!

The first time i went to see them was at Castle Gate Grantham, in 2017 and was the first local band i went to see live.

I have had some experience of seeing live music in the forms of concerts seeing example live twice in Nottingham many years a go.

Since moving to Grantham over 5 years a go I never went to see any live music so over the last year i made it my goal to do so and to connect with the local scene as well.

I saw that they was playing again at the kings arms, other then one time at another venue the only place i have listened to local bands was at the castle gate so it was nice to have a change of scenery.

For me Castlegate is a great pub, however for music i feel it to be a really small venue with very few sitting and for me i have to be sitting i have tried standing to watch live music and it makes me worry more about being around people.

For the first time i was going with a friend and his friend both i had met through the magic cottage social events at the shop in Grantham.

The pub was packed and to be expected but as always i seem to find the best spots which are normally right near the bands.

Under the covers started their set strong and within a few songs i was singing and well impressed with the cover of tainted love.

I admit i am normally into a lot of club, dance type songs and artists with liking the odd band like nickelback and paramore but over the last few years i have learned to broaden my tastes which seeing different live bands has helped that.

Chantelle has a wonderful powerful voice and knows how to get the crowd going while the epic Shane shows mad Guitar rifts solo parts and together they make one hell of a band !!!!

This was Knipfest last year which i was gutted i did not go as it was not over expensive to see a whole bunch of live music so maybe this year i will see about going.

Anyway back to the night that was amazing, as the night went on their set and flare got even more better, you could tell they was having a blast and so was the people watching.

superstitious came on which again i sang my heart out just having the time of my life, and by then the pub became even busier, with people coming to the front to dance.

I was sad not to have my camera on me but not sad because i was living the moment more of what i should be doing.

Just like my new friend did when the best song of the night came on towards the end which not only got my friend up dancing but a bunch more people.

The whole place lit up when highway to hell came on at that point even though i never been to a festival it had that vibe !!!!

I think most people in the pub sang their hearts out and just loved under the covers.

Overall it was an awesome day because i played tennis with a great bunch of people for 3 hours, i was surrounded by even more great people while being at the magic cottage and then to see Under the covers just really made a epic close to the night !!!

I realized after that night that i think i not only discovered the right pub to be in with lots of seats, and room but also the right top of music that brings my soul, my true self out and i love it (:

Under the covers are from Grantham so if you do see them around town, have a chat, get down to see them live as it will be a blast and music is life !!!

Thank you for reading, below you will see small selection of feedback from people who have booked the band showing that its not just me who loved them haha.

Under The Covers performed for us, at incredibly late notice, on New Years Eve. We've had many bands play here in the 16 months that we've had the pub &, in all honesty, they were one of the most professional & accommodating acts we've seen. Not only were they incredibly good performers, they also went out of their way to make sure that we had a memorable & entertaining New Years Eve. I would not hesitate, for one moment, to recommend them to anybody who's after a damn good nights entertainment" The Railway Inn - Oakham

- Paul Lids, The Jury Dogs "Quite a varied mixture of songs in both sets, something to suit to suit everyone’s taste, a bit different from the image portrayed" "Chantelle. A nice tone to your voice, though really suited for mid range & maybe some higher notes, Loved your version of ‘Tainted Love’ you put your mark on it & really made it your own song" "Well done for attempting Adam & the Ants ‘Stand & Deliver’ it’s hard for a female to sing, even some male voices cannot master that one. Shane as it should be & with a smooth harmony, from what I heard, able to reach higher notes than the Lead Vocal. Guitar. A very accomplished player with a gift, a talent, who shows how passionate he is in his playing, also able to take Lead Vocal. Lovely couple who enjoy what they do, look forward to seeing them again"
